On February 12, 2019 the Travis Roy Foundation will host the 2nd Annual Women’s Beanpot Charity Hockey Challenge. The fundraiser will consist of a “pickup” hockey game at Boston University’s Agganis Arena, followed by all participants reconvening at Harvard University’s Bright Landry Arena to watch the 41st Women’s Beanpot Championship game. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Travis Roy Foundation to help fund spinal cord injury (SCI) research and adaptive equipment grants for SCI survivors.
Women of all ages are encouraged to play, with participants having playing experience of at least high school hockey. Players are asked to raise a minimum of $500 by creating a personal online fundraising page that will be provided by the Travis Roy Foundation. Participants are encouraged to share their fundraising page with family, friends, and coworkers to meet the $500 fundraising requirement. In our inaugural event in 2018, we had just over 20 women play and we raised over $20,000.
