Travis Roy Cup
The St. Sebastian’s Arrows defeated the Tabor Academy Seawolves 3-2 in the 18th Annual Travis Roy Cup Varsity Hockey Game held Saturday, February 1, 2014, at the Travis Roy Arena at Tabor Academy in Marion, MA.
The crowd was happy to have Travis on hand to present the Cup to St. Sebastian’s and also present the John Cail MVP award to Arrows goaltender Danny Higgins. Despite the disappointment in the loss for the Seawolves , the afternoon was a success for the Foundation and all those who attended. Thanks to the efforts of the hockey players, the parents and both Tabor and St. Sebastian’s community, the game raised close to $10,000.
The Travis Roy Cup is played every year to honor Travis (a 1995 Tabor Academy graduate) and his contributions to prep school hockey, as well as to raise money for the Travis Roy Foundation. The event has been a success both in terms of the support for the Foundation and the level of competition displayed by both teams. To date the Travis Roy Cup has raised more than $94,000 for the Foundation.
