Rochester,
NY -- The third annual Rochester
Art Gala to Benefit the Travis Roy
Foundation was held on April 8, 2006 at
the Rochester Auditorium Center
in Rochester, NY. More than 100 people attended the cocktail party
which will include hors d'oeuvres, dinner
and dessert stations as well as two
beverages, raising more than $13,000 for
the Strong Memorial Hospital Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation Unit and
spinal cord injury survivors!
More than $41,000 has been raised through
the Rochester Art Gala to Benefit the
Travis Roy Foundation. Funds raised for the
Travis Roy Foundation through the Rochester, NY
group's efforts benefit the Rochester community in
two ways: by
research
grants made by the Travis Roy Foundation to
the Strong Memorial Hospital Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation Unit and through
individual grants
made to applicants after review by the
Foundation's Board of Directors.
The Rochester Art Gala to Benefit the
Travis Roy Foundation replaced the Travis
Roy Golf Tournament, an annual event that
was held in Rochester from 1998-2002.
Thanks to the Rochester group's efforts, a
total of $86,000 has been raised, with
$43,000 donated to Rochester's Strong
Memorial Hospital and the remainder of the
proceeds distributed as
individual grants.
