Boston Red Sox Honor Travis Roy as Part of

Disability Advocacy Awareness Night

 

Travis Roy Joins Eunice Kennedy Shriver In Being

Honored for Work for the Disabled

 

Boston, MA -- The Boston Red Sox honored Travis Roy on June 23, 2003  as part of the organization's Disability Advocacy Awareness Night for his work with the Travis Roy Foundation.

Roy joined Eunice Kennedy Shriver in being honored prior to the Red Sox' June 23, 2003 game versus the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Roy and Shriver were recognized prior to the first pitch of the game and were presented with commemorative plaques in recognition of their contributions as advocates for the disabled.

Ms. Shriver, who also threw out the ceremonial first pitch, was recognized as the founder of the Special Olympics.
