10th Annual Bill’s Pizzeria Run to benefit the Travis Roy Foundation
Bill’s 5K Pizzeria Run will take place Sunday, October 26, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. Dean Chronopolous, owner of Bill’s Pizzeria started the 5K race after Dean’s brother, Taso, was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident in 2005. Since then the race has raised almost $100,000 for the Travis Roy Foundation. This event attracts over a thousand runners of all ages and abilities who dress in costume, compete for fun and help raise money for the Travis Roy Foundation. 1500 participants are expected to compete for fun, prizes, and enjoy free Bill’s Pizza after the race!
Immediately following the race, as part of the festivities we will have a costume contest for race participants. We encourage everyone to get creative. Winners will be announced at the after party and includes special prizes for the winners.
Starting at Mason Rice Elementary School, the 5K Run is a beautiful scenic course with a flat start and finish around Newton Centre. The route is a USATF-certified course and will be timed.
FOR THE KIDS:
Spooky Sprints (1/4 mile and 1/2 mile field runs) starts at 8:30 a.m. with a finisher gift for all.
Participants are encouraged to don fun halloween costumes. Awards for runners and prizes for costumes will be announced after the race.
Pre-registration fee: $25
Day of race registration: $35
We encourage all participants to raise funds for the Travis Roy Foundation. You can raise funds individually, as a team, or through corporate participation. The Travis Roy Foundation is hoping to raise 2 million dollars this year and the 5K is great way to help reach that number! #2million4TRF!
