TRAVIS ROY CUP TOURNAMENT

TO BENEFIT THE TRAVIS ROY FOUNDATION

Next Event: February 2009

St. Sebastian's School - Needham, MA

The Travis Roy Cup varsity hockey game between St. Sebastian's School and Tabor Academy originated in 1997 as a way to honor Travis Roy and his contributions to prep school hockey, as well as to raise money for the Travis Roy Foundation. The event has certainly been a success both in terms of the support for the Foundation and the level of competition displayed by these two teams. To date, the Travis Roy Cup has raised more than $64,000 for the Foundation.

The Travis Roy Cup presented the first MVP Award in 1999 to honor the memory of John Cail, a former hockey player and 1972 graduate of St. Sebastian's School who passed away in December 1988. In August 1973, John was involved in an automobile accident that left him a quadriplegic, and like Travis, displayed incredible courage and determination in the face of tremendous odds.
