ATHLETES STANDING TOGETHER,
|
|
Since
its inception, the Travis Roy Foundation has
enjoyed the support of numerous professional
and amateur athletes and teams. Thanks to their generous
cooperation, as well as
that of the sponsors and fans who assist them, the
Foundation has been able to make many more
individual and research grants available than would
have otherwise been possible, while making spinal
cord injury survivors who could benefit from a
Travis Roy Foundation grant aware of the Foundation
and its mission.
Supporting the Travis Roy Foundation provides
athletes, teams and sponsors with a vehicle not only
to help fund a cure for spinal cord paralysis but
also an opportunity to make a positive and profound
impact on the lives of spinal cord injury survivors
in their own local communities.
JOIN THE ASTCTC TEAM! If you are an
athlete, team or sponsor interested in joining
the "Athletes
Standing Together, Committed to the Cure"
team, whether by participating in a Travis Roy
Foundation event, hosting an event of your own,
or by
sponsoring an athlete or team (i.e. $100 for
every goal scored) please call (617) 699-8106 or
email us at
astctc@travisroyfoundation.org. Qualified
applicants from each participating team's local
area, and/or the area(s) designated by the player or sponsor,
will be given first consideration for grants
originating from funds generated by their
participation.

Boston Bruins Charity Auction
February 17, 2008
The 9th Annual Boston
Bruins Charity Auction was held at Mantra Restaurant
on Sunday, February 17, 2008 to benefit the Travis
Roy Foundation. The Boston Bruins Charity Auction is
an upscale event, held annually, which allows Bruins
fans to mix and mingle with the entire Boston Bruins
roster, coaching staff, management, and alumni.
The event boasted over
200 silent auction items that featured one-of-a-kind

Benefit Game
to Fight Paralysis
September 28,
1996
The Los Angeles Kings hosted
the first
major fund-raiser to benefit the Travis
Roy Foundation. The proceeds from the
event helped launch the Foundation, which
was created in 1997. The Kings hosted the
Colorado Avalanche in an exhibition game
on September 28, 1996 that helped raise
$100,000 for paralysis survivors. Proceeds
were split evenly between the Travis Roy
Foundation, Paralysis Project of America
and the Kings Care Foundation.
The Travis Roy
Foundation is indebted to the LA Kings and
every team and individual who helped
launch the Foundation in its early days &
who help sustain it today. Without their
assistance, the Foundation would not be
able to offer help to those in need.
